Disappearing Earth
By Julia Phillips
In the first chapter of this confident debut, two young girls disappeared, bringing a huge impact to this small town on the edge of the remote Kamchatka Peninsula. The following novels consist of a series of overlapping stories that tell the story of the effects of their disappearance on many women. Each plot-rich story advances the narrative for a month, revealing how women in Kamchatka have been hit by this criminal act on a personal, cultural and emotional level.
TopThe Topeka School
(The Topeka School)
By Ben Lerner
This is Lerner's exciting third novel. Following "Leaving the Atocha Station" and "10:04", this book presents an extremely American style of broadness, from parenting to childhood, from harmful machoism to cunnilingus Details, from Freud's Oedipus complex to Tupac's "All Eyez on Me", are all-inclusive. Adam Gordon became the protagonist again, but this time as a high school debate star, and mainly in the third person. His parents, a psychologist, and a former classmate with a cognitive deficit and a stark contrast to Adam's talent received the same length. Lerner's early novels still question art and authenticity; but Adam's lack of faith has now expanded into a symptom of a nation's belief crisis. The feeling of an orchestral arrangement by a composer, the range of a ventral performer, and a delicate national harmony have always depended on Lerner. However, the last item has never before been used so cheerfully and has never so evoked the foamy texture of late Clintonism.
By Ted Chiang
This collection includes nine beautiful short stories, several of which explore the major consequences of time travel. Reading them is like sitting with a friend for dinner, during which he explains scientific theories to you, without condescending. Every thoughtful, elegantly-conceived story raises a philosophical question; after an extraordinary journey, Ted Ginger structured these 9 stories into a mellow conversation.
LLost Children Archive
(Lost Children Archive)
By Valeria Luiselli
The third novel by the Mexican writer-and her first English novel-is set in a crisis: children cross the border, face death, be detained, and deported without a guardian . The novel centers on a couple and their two children (both without a name) who are traveling along the road from New York City to the Mexican border; while conducting independent ethnographic research, the couple's marriage is taking place On the brink of collapse, the woman tried to help a Mexican immigrant find her daughter who was missing while trying to cross the border. Russell's talent for writing aroused anger and pity, but what would people do after reading such a novel? Russellie is extremely sensitive to these doubts, and she brings a metaphorical, self-reflective, and experimental book about both storytellers and missing children.

(Night Boat to Tangier)
You wouldn't expect to encounter sharp lyrical texts or lamentable philosophy at a desolate ferry terminal off the coast of Spain, but since Barry's novel has two Irish gangster anti-hero characters, both have been shown a lot, while also Tells vulgar and interesting stories, evokes many painful memories. Their lives have become so intertwined that the young woman they wait for can become a family for both of them. Will she show up? Do they really care? Their joke is a shield against darkness, a witty new version of Waiting for Godot.
S Say Nothing
Patrick Patrick Radden Keefe
In 1972, the masker broke into a 38-year-old widow and mother of 10 children, Jean McConville, at her home in Belfast and dragged her out. In this elaborate book--with a fine pace like a novel--Kivf uses the murder of McConnell as a prism to tell the history of the unrest in Northern Ireland. He interviewed people on both sides of the conflict, turning the tragic destruction and wear and tear of that era into a searing, gripping legend.
British painter Joshua Reynolds just wanted to please his depressed friend Samuel Johnson. Who knew that his proposed Friday night chat at the Turk ’s Head Tavern in London would eventually attract almost all British leaders at the end of the 18th century? Damrosch brings the awesome personalities of The Club—smart minds, witless saliva, gentle friendship—to lively lives, presenting indelible portraits: Johnson and Renault , Edmund Burke, Adam Smith, actor David Garrick, historian Edward Gibbon, and of course Johnson's loyal Biographer James Boswell: "A group of geniuses with few or even no one."

The Yellow House
(The Yellow House)
By Sarah M. Broom
In her extraordinary and fascinating debut, Bloom surpassed the basic expectations of a memoir and created a literary form that combines entertainment and creativity. Partly oral history, partly urban history, and partly a compliment to past lifestyles, The Yellow House is a comprehensive complaint of greed, discrimination, apathy, and poor urban planning, and it is these that led to her house from the map disappear. Tracking East New Orleans (a "50 times larger area of ??the French Quarter" but nowhere to be found on most tourist maps, with sporadic properties neglected by white people) The history of a family, from the 1960s to Cartery Hurricane Na, the book immediately became a must-read text, examining the past, present, and future of New Orleans and the entire United States.
No No Visible Bruises
(No Visible Bruises)
Ra Rachel Louise Snyder
In his book, Mr. Snyder covered in detail what the World Health Organization calls "epidemic global health problems." In the United States alone, more than half of the women murdered were killed by current or former partners; domestic violence is irrespective of class, religion and race. Snyder exposed the widespread myth (the restraint is the answer, the abuser never changes), and emotionally described the life (and death) of people on both sides of the equation. Instead of giving simple answers, she provided a wealth of information, which was a hope in itself.
Midnight in Chernobyl
Higginbotham's wonderful description of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant explosion in April 1986 belongs to the rare scientific book that reads like a thrilling thriller。 The story is full of vivid details and deeply-characterized characters, from which you can see shocking incompetence, mistakes one by one, and misjudgments one after another, which ultimately leads to inevitable disasters that change history。
